OXFORD, Ohio – Eleven different players scored for the Miami University women's basketball team in an 84-53 win over the Tiffin Dragons on Thursday night at Millett Hall. Emily Bratton scored a career-high 14 points as Miami improves to 2-1 on the year.
Joining Bratton in double figures were Lakresha Edwards (12), Amber Tretter (12) and Hennessey Luu-Brown (12). Bratton and Maya Chandler added three assists apiece and Edwards had a game-high six rebounds.

How it Happened:
- Miami raced out to a 14-2 advantage less than four minutes into the contest with four points from both Tretter and Ilse de Vries. Tiffin connected on a free throw following a timeout, but Bratton converted a three-point play and moments later found Edwards in the corner for a triple for a 20-3 lead. Edwards added two more three-pointers in the closing minutes, helping the RedHawks to a 31-11 first quarter lead.
- Enjulina Gonzalez scored the first seven points of the second quarter and Chandler found Tretter for an easy layup to push Miami's lead to 40-11 with six minutes left in the half. Tiffin knocked in four triples in a span of three minutes to make it a 48-23 contest with 2:45 to play. Miami led 50-28 at the half.
- Miami's defense held Tiffin scoreless for the first seven minutes of the third quarter, while five different RedHawks scored before the media timeout as Miami extended its lead to 63-28. The Dragons made a trio of three pointers to end the quarter as Miami led 68-40.
- Edwards and Luu-Brown connected from behind the arc and a layup from Cori Lard gave Miami a 76-40 lead to begin the fourth. A Luu-Brown layup with under a minute to go gave Miami their largest lead of the game, 84-51.
- Emily Bratton finished with a career-best 14 points.
- Amber Tretter established a new career-best in blocks with four.
- Miami had 18 assists to just nine turnovers and forced a season high in turnovers (30).
