OXFORD, Ohio— Head coach Anthony Noreen announced the 2024-25 leadership group for Miami Hockey today. Ryan Sullivan, a graduate student from Grosse Pointe, Mich., was named the RedHawks' captain. Dylan Moulton, a graduate student from Nolensville, Tenn., and Blake Mesenburg, a junior from Orono, Minn., will serve as Miami's assistant captains.
"Wearing a letter for a hockey team is as high of an honor as there is in team sports," said Noreen. "Ryan, Dylan and Blake are high-character men who represent the identity and culture of Miami Hockey in everything they do."
"I am incredibly honored to be named captain of Miami Hockey," Sullivan said. "This is a responsibility I take with great pride, and I'm excited to help lead such a dedicated group of guys on and off the ice. I have a great respect for the leaders who came before me and will strive to build on their legacy."
"I am honored to have been chosen for this role and it's something that I do not take likely," said Moulton. "I hope to leave this place better than I found it. Part of that is being a leader and someone others can turn to or look up to, especially some of the younger guys who are going to be a big part of the future success this team will have."
"I'm honored to have been chosen as an assistant captain. It means a lot to have my teammates' and coaches' support," Mesenburg said. "We have a great group of guys, and I'm looking forward to being a part of what we can accomplish down the stretch."
The RedHawks host Minnesota Duluth this weekend at Steve "Coach" Cady Arena (Nov. 15-16). Puck drop is set for 7:05 p.m. each night.
