Dominant RedHawks Claim a Win at Central Michigan

MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich.- The Miami soccer team defeated Central Michigan 2-1 at CMU Soccer/Lacrosse Complex on Thursday evening. The RedHawks move to 7-4-5 (3-3-3 in MAC) and Central Michigan is now 5-7-4 (3-3-3 in MAC).
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Miami started the second half hot as Sydney Thompson scored the opening goal in the 53rd minute on a pass in from Kylee Beinecke.Â
- Taylor Hamlett continued her scoring run as she doubled Miami's advantage in the 56th minute.Â
- Central Michigan scored with less than a minute remaining after Claudia Muessig's pass found Lauren Walker to account for the final margin.
NOTES
- Hamlett netted her 10th goal of the year and became the first RedHawk to score 10 goals in a season since 2014 (Kelsey Dinges).
- Katie O'Malley led the RedHawks with five shots.Â
- Miami had 23 shots to Central Michigan's seven.
- The RedHawks had six corners to the Chippewas' two. Â

Miami is back in action Sunday, Oct. 27 against Buffalo. The match begins at 1 p.m at Bobby Kramig Field in Oxford.
