
Hamlett Named MAC Offensive Player of the Week

CLEVELAND-- The Mid-American Conference released its weekly soccer offensive and defensive player of the week awards on Tuesday afternoon. Miami fifth-year forward Taylor Hamlett earned the offensive honor for the second time this season.
Hamlett helped carry the RedHawks to a 3-2 comeback win against Ball State on Friday night. She scored the first goal and the winner while assisting on the tying goal. She also broke a 13-year old school record for shots in a game with 16 shots. She had seven of them on goal. She set a new career-high in assists (3) while furthering her totals to nine goals and 21 points on the season, which sees her rank second in the MAC in shots, goals and points.
Hamlett and the RedHawks return to action Thursday, Oct. 24 at 7 p.m. for a road match vs. Central Michigan in Mount Pleasant, Mich.
