OXFORD, Ohio- The Miami soccer team won 3-2 at Bobby Kramig Field against Ball State on Friday evening. The RedHawks move to 6-4-5 (2-3-3 in MAC) and Ball State is now 7-6-2 (2-4-2 in MAC).
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Ball State opened the scoring in the 14th minute after Jordyn Jeffers put in a cross to the back post and Avery Fenchel got a head on it and Dominique Popa's hand wasn't enough to keep it out.Â
- The Cardinals doubled their lead when Delaney Caldwell put in a long range effort after a quick pass from Addy Chester in the 53rd minute.
- Taylor Hamlett pulled one back for the RedHawks on a header in close after a cross in from Morhéa Hoefen in the 70th minute.
- After Hamlett crossed in the ball and the goalkeeper spilled it, Makenna Morrison pounced on the rebound to tie the game at 2-2 in the 74th minute.Â
- Kylee Beinecke squared it in the box and Hamlett shot it across goal to give Miami the lead for good in the 83rd minute.  Â
NOTES
- Hamlett set a school record for shots in a game with 16, seven of which were on target.
- Popa had seven saves.Â
- Miami had 23 shots to Ball State's 16.
- Miami extends its home unbeaten streak to nine games.
- All three captains got on the score sheet for the second time this season.Â
