South Bend, Ind. — The Miami University women's swim team traveled to South Bend on Friday, Oct 11. The RedHawks fell to Notre Dame, 180-82.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The meet kicked off with the 400 yard medley relay where the women's A relay finished second. Madeline Padavic, Zofia Janaszek-Seydlitz, Erin Szczupakiewicz and Kaylin Herbet turned in a combined total of 3:45.85.
- In the women's 1000 yard freestyle Audrey Conley came away with fourth earning a time of 10:32.67.
- Herbet finished third in the women's 200 yard freestyle with a time of 1:54.53.
- Ella Ziegert finished second in the women's 100 yard backstroke, recording a time of 55.71. Chrisna Bezuidenhout and Jenna Halliday finished close behind in fourth and fifth with times of 57.41 and 57.70 respectively.
- In the women's 100 yard breaststroke Natalie Gilson finished first, as she clocked in at 1:04.79. Janaszek-Seydlitz followed, finishing fourth after posting a time of 1:05.17.
- For the women's 200 yard butterfly Szczupakiewicz came in fifth with a time of 2:06.80.
- Padavic finished fourth in the women's 50 yard freestyle earning a time of 23.81. Julia Waechter finished shortly after in fifth place with a time of 24.42.
- Gilson came in first in the women's 100 yard freestyle registering a time of 51.44.
- In the women's 200 yard backstroke Piper Prince took second place achieving a time of 2:02.92. Mady Bachmeier finished just behind her in third with a time of 2:02.93. Bezuidenhout came right after in fourth earning a time of 2:03.37.
- Janaszek-Seydlitz finished first in the women's 200 yard breaststroke, clocking in at 2:21.72.
- In the women's 500 yard freestyle Conley placed fifth with a time of 5:10.36.
- Szczupakiewicz finished fourth in the women's 100 yard butterfly, recording a time of 56.80. Ziegert followed, finishing fifth and earning a time of 57.84.
- Herbet came away with a first place finish in the women's 200 yard IM earning a time of 2:03.65. Prince placed fourth with a time of 2:09.04.
- Swimming events concluded with the women's 200 yard freestyle relay, where the women's A relay team came away with third place. Gilson, Waechter, Halliday and Padavic turned in a combined total of 1:35.44.
