OXFORD, Ohio-- The Miami University men's swimming and diving teams came out on top today against Ball State on Friday, Jan. 26 at home, finishing 190-110.
How It Happened:
- Starting with the 200-yard medley relay, Miami's A team, Owen Blazer, Adrian Dulay, Henju Duvenhage and Ian Kmiliauskis, finished first with a combined time of 1:30.45. The B team coming in second, was made up of Mason Miller, Benjamin Eichberg, Gabriel Perseguin and Jack Herczeg and they finished in 1:31.77.
- Following that, in the 1000-yard freestyle, Yonatan Rosin placed first with a time of 9:36.94. He later took third place in the 500-yard freestyle finishing in 4:43.57.
- Bryce Menchhofer had two first-place finishes during the meet, first in the 200-yard freestyle (1:41.44) and again in the 500-yard freestyle (4:40.33).
- Blazer also had top finishes today, coming in first in the 100-yard backstroke (49.78) and the 200-yard backstroke (1:50.83).
- Other top performances came from Allen Cotton, finishing first in the 200-yard butterfly (1:49.27), alongside Duvenhage in second (1:49.62) and Perseguin in third (1:50.89). Miami again took the top three finishes in the 200-yard IM with Duvenhage in first (1:50.59), Cotton in second (1:51.72) and Dulay in third (1:55.98).
- Perseguin also secured first place in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 49.34, alongside Aidan Jacobs in third with a time of 50.73.
- Miami had multiple other standout finishes on the board today as well. Second-place finishers were Tegan Barrier in the 200-yard freestyle (1:41.49), Ian Van Gorp in the 100-yard backstroke (51.85), Dulay in the 100-yard breaststroke (57.01), Kmiliauskis in the 50-yard freestyle (20.94) as well as the 100-yard freestyle (45.63) and Eichberg in the 200-yard breaststroke (2:03.79).
- Third-place finishes today came from Ian Wihebrink in the 100-yard breaststroke (57.12), Herczeg in the 50-yard freestyle (21.04), Barrier in the 100-yard freestyle (46.05), Clark Pabst in the 200-yard backstroke (1:55.23) and Paul Brosky in the 200-yard breaststroke (2:07.61).
- In diving events, Victor Hearn placed first in the 1 meter earning 293.78 points and Jackson Miller in third (285.15). In the 3-meter dive, Miller placed first with a total of 313.05 points.
- The 200-yard freestyle relay concluded the meet with the A team in second, seeing Kmiliauskis, Herczeg, Perseguin and Duvenhage finish with a time of 1:24.04, along with the C team, Wihebrick, Blazer, Van Gorp and Scott Spear in third with a time of 1:25.64.

The women will next compete on Friday, Feb. 2 at 1 p.m. at home. The next co-ed competition will be Saturday, Feb. 3 at 1 p.m. at home to recognize the seniors.
