
Miami at 12 Under Par After Day One of Island Resort Intercollegiate

HARRIS, Mich. — The Miami University golf team is in third place after two rounds at South Dakota State University's Island Resort Intercollegiate today after having two golfers shoot below par in both rounds. 2023 Second Team All-MAC selection Danny Fisher led the team with a pair of 67s, finishing five below par in each round.

Miami will look for a first place finish in the third and final round tomorrow morning at Sage Run Golf Club in Michigan's upper peninsula.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Fisher's efforts have him tied for second place overall out of 76 golfers.
- Newcomer Morgan Blythe shot 70 (two below par) in round one and 69 (three below par) in round two. He is tied for 11th place.
- Cameron Pero lowered his score by five strokes in the second round, improving from a 74 in round one to a 69 in round two.
- Matthew Mattioli shot two above par (74) in round one before lowering his score to one under par (71) in round two.
- Scott Bitar shot 77 in round one and 73 in round two, improving by four strokes from the first to the second round.
- The RedHawks' team score came in at 12 under par, just four strokes behind the current leader, University of Michigan.
