Miami Ties for Fourth at Virtues

NASHPORT, Ohio — The Miami University golf team finished tied for fourth place after the third and final round of their Virtues Intercollegiate, shooting four below par on the day as a team and 10 below par for three rounds. Cameron Pero shot his best round of the season and led the team during the third round, shooting four below par.

The RedHawks will send individuals to compete at Forest Hills Country Club in Richmond, Ind. on Friday before heading to West Lafayette, Ind. for the Boilermaker Invitational on Oct. 9-10.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Pero (72-72-68–212) finished four below par through three rounds. He made five birdies during round three and tied for 12th individually out of 88 players.
- Matthew Mattioli (69-72-71–212) had four birdies during the third round. He also tied for 12th as an individual.
- Morgan Blythe (72-68-73–212) had an eagle on hole 10, marking the third straight round he has made an eagle. He tied for 17th overall.
- Danny Fisher (71-74-72–217) finished with a three-round score of one over par. Fisher had 14 pars during the final round.
- Michael Weber (76-80-77–233) shot five over par in the third round. He also had 14 pars on the day.
- Sam West (72-70-79–221) finished five over par through three rounds. He competed as an individual from Miami.
- The RedHawks totaled 854 strokes, shooting a team score of 10 below par to finish tied for fourth out of 17 programs.
