No. 25 Miami Falls to No. 3 Louisville

OXFORD, Ohio – In the top-25 matchup on Tuesday afternoon between the #25 Miami University field hockey team and #3 University of Louisville, Louisville took the contest 2-0. This drops the RedHawks to 7-4 on the season (2-0 MAC) and Louisville moves to 8-1 (0-1 ACC).
HOW IT HAPPENED:
UP NEXT: The RedHawks will stay home in Oxford, Ohio this weekend to take on Bellarmine University in MAC play on Saturday, Sept. 30 at 12 p.m.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- A tough Miami defense held the game tied 0-0 through the end of the first quarter.
- The first half ended with both teams locked in at 0-0 despite Louisville's 11 penalty corners and 10 shots. Goalkeeper Isabelle Perese had five saves heading into the third quarter.
- Early in the third quarter, Louisville scored to take a 1-0 lead over Miami, which they held through the remainder of the quarter.
- The Cardinals scored their second goal of the game under three minutes into the last quarter to double their lead to 2-0. They held this through the remainder of the game.
UP NEXT: The RedHawks will stay home in Oxford, Ohio this weekend to take on Bellarmine University in MAC play on Saturday, Sept. 30 at 12 p.m.
