RedHawks’ Home Win Streak Snapped by CMU

OXFORD, Ohio-- The Miami University soccer team lost at Bobby Kramig Field 2-1 to Central Michigan this afternoon. This is Miami's first home loss in three matches. Miami's record is now 3-6-1 (0-2-0 in MAC) and Central Michigan is now 2-2-3 (1-1-0 in MAC).

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Cece Mernatti ran down the line and crossed it into Jenna Little, who took a touch, turned and shot it in to open the Chippewas' scoring.
  • Little scored another shortly after the first on a mirrored play where Lauren Walker crossed it into her and she buried it.
  • Taylor Hamlett gave Miami hope towards the end after she found the back of the net in a swarm around the penalty spot.

NOTES

  • Hamlett had six of the 15 Miami shots.
  • Dominique Popa had five saves, including an incredible kick save in the first half.
