RedHawks Lose Opening MAC Game at Ball State

MUNCIE, Ind.- The Miami soccer team lost its opening Mid-American Conference match to Ball State, 3-1. With this result, Miami falls to 3-5-1 (0-1-0 in MAC) and Ball State moves to 3-5-0 (1-0-0 in MAC).Â
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Ball State opened the scoring in the 12 minute mark after Avery Fenchel flicked in a finish from a low cross across the box from Emily Roper.Â
- Kaitlyn Fraser doubled the lead on a shot from just outside the 18-yard box that went across the goal.
- Taylor Hamlett turned near the goal line and hit a shot that took a deflection and looped over the goalie to cut the deficit.Â
- Ball State scored a third through Annika Klauss after getting the ball at the top of the box.
NOTES
- Haley Anspach had four shots.
- Dominique Popa had four saves.
- Miami had 12 shots to Ball State's 15.Â
