RedHawks Compete in the RedHawk Rumble

OXFORD, Ohio-- The RedHawk cross country teams kicked off their season Friday morning by running against the University of Cincinnati and Indiana University's teams at the RedHawk Rumble. The women's team ran the 5k and the men's team ran the 6k, with both finishing in third place on the day.

Next up for the RedHawks is a trip to East Lansing, Mich. in two weeks to participate in the Spartan Invitational on Friday, Sept. 15.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- For the women, Julia Rushing led Miami by coming in second place overall with a time of 17:46.15. Gianna Labbiento (19:14.26) and Cara Razavi (19:21.28) were the next highest placing RedHawks, taking 18th and 19th place. Ella Boate (20:11.31) and Hannah Lippincott (20:29.06) rounded out the top five for the women, finishing in 25th and 26th place to give the women a total score of 72 points.
- For the men, Johnny Sayle was the highest placing RedHawk; he finished in 13th place with a time of 18:30.04. Anton Martinez (18:58.26) and Jack Klein (19:10.55) came in 19th and 21st, respectively. Weston Naville (19:34.09) and Victor Orsinelli (19:50.44) finished in 25th and 31st place to give the men a total team score of 70 points.
