RedHawks Down the Screaming Eagles

OXFORD, Ohio- The Miami University soccer team earned its second consecutive win at Bobby Kramig Field on Thursday night, defeating Southern Indiana 1-0. Miami improves to 2-2-1 and USI falls to 0-4-1. 

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Paige Vanek came close in the 31st minute with a header just a touch over the bar for Southern Indiana's best chance of the game. 
  • Freshman Julia Kure put the RedHawks ahead just before the end of the first half on a nice cutback shot which was assisted by Sydney Thompson.
  • Makenna Morrison had an amazing chance saved by Anna Markland a few minutes into the second half.

NOTES

  • Miami outshot Southern Indiana 20-4. 
  • Dominique Popa claimed back-to-back clean sheets.
  • The RedHawks had nine corners to the Screaming Eagles' two.
