HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky.-- The Miami University soccer team fell 1-0 on the road to Northern Kentucky on Thursday night. Natalie Newman scored an early goal which was enough for the Norse (1-1-1, 0-0-0 Horizon League). The RedHawks drop to 0-2-1 with this result.Â
HOW IT HAPPENED
- NKU took the lead in the 9th minute through a shot in the box by Natalie Newman, assisted by Erykah Cornett and Kylie Anderson.
- Makenna Morrison was Miami's offensive spark with three of the team's five shots.Â
NOTES
- The RedHawks had a number of opportunities, with eight corner kicks compared to NKU's three.
- Freshmen Dominique Popa, Morhéa Hoefen, and Sophia Penegor played all 90 minutes for the Red and White.
- Hoefen made her first career start as a RedHawk.
- Popa recorded four saves in goal for Miami.
