Women's Basketball Welcomes Lakresha Edwards to the Program

OXFORD, Ohio – Miami University head women's basketball coach Glenn Box announced the addition of Lakresha Edwards. Edwards will suit up for Miami in the 2023-24 season.

Edwards, a 6'0 incoming freshman from Chilliwack, British Columbia, joins Miami after attending Fort Erie International Academy in Ontario, Canada. In her junior season, she earned First-Team All-Star distinction in the Bateman Classic, EVAA and Provincial Championships. Most recently, she was named a First-Team All-Star in the OSBA, Ohio Tourney and Battle in the Fort. Edwards also was named a Biosteel All-Canadian in her senior season. While attending Fort Erie, she set the program record for most threes made in a single season.

Coach Box: "Lakresha is a high character kid who gives us a legitimate three-point shooting threat combined with size. We are anxious to get her here and get to work."
