Miami Women Take Third, Men Fourth at MACs

AKRON, Ohio-- The Miami University track and field teams finished off strong showings at the MAC Outdoor Championships this weekend, as the women finished in third place with 96.5 points and the men took fourth with 92 points.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- On the field, Ryan Smith finished in first place in the men's discus throw event with 50.63 meters! Adam Smith captured fifth place with 48.66 meters. Ryan Smith also finished in fifth place in the men's hammer throw with 57.77 meters.
- In the men's 100 meter dash finals, Julian Wagner finished in fifth place with a time of 10.80 seconds. In the men's 110 meter hurdle finals, Eman Alfred finished in fourth place with a time of 14.30 seconds. Leo Bouldin finished in sixth place in the men's 400 meter dash with a time of 48.83 seconds. In the men's 400 meter hurdles, Jacob Ranker finished in third place with a time of 52.45 seconds. In the men's 200 meter dash, Leo Bouldin finished in sixth place with a time of 21.86 seconds. The 4x100 team of Wagner, Alfred, Bouldin, and Ranker came in second place with a time of 41.05 seconds.
- In the men's 1500 meter final, Charlie Harders finished in second place with a time of 3:46.46, a new track record! Jake Bertelsen finished in fifth place with a time of 3:50.29. In the men's 5000 meter final, Obsaa Feda (14:15.92), Mhalicki Bronson (14:18.00) and Bertelsen (14:18.81) finished in fourth, fifth, and sixth place, respectively.
- In the women's 400 meter dash finals, Abby Suszek finished in third place with a time of 54.80 seconds. Gabby Cossio came in seventh with a time of 56.74 seconds. Â
- In the women's 5000 meter final, the RedHawks had the top three finishers. Carmen Riano finished in first with a time of 16:17.57, Ava Nuttall finished in second with a time of 16:22.11, and Annie Christie finished in third with a time of 16:38.66. In the women's 1500 meter final, Annie Christie finished in second place with a time of 4:27.11. Nora Zubillaga finished in eighth place in the women's 800 meter final with a time of 2:13.95.
- On the field, Santornya Ralliford finished in second place in the women's discus throw with 46.52 meters.
