RedHawks Take Ninth at RedHawk Intercollegiate

FOX CHAPEL, Pa. — Miami's golf team finished in ninth during the three-round RedHawk Intercollegiate tournament after putting up a team score of 888 (295-296-297). Sam West (72-74-75–221) and Danny Fisher (72-75-74–221) led the team with scores of eight above par. Their rounds were each highlighted by a one-above-par finish in round one.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • Fisher put up 13 pars and a birdie during the final round, shooting three above par and tying for 16th place overall out of 77 golfers.
  • West shot 14 pars during round three, shooting four above par during the round. He also tied for 16th.
  • Michael Weber (75-72-76–223) tied for 25th after finishing 10 above par through three rounds. Weber shot the third most pars throughout the tournament of all golfers and averaged 3.2 strokes on par threes, also the third best among all golfers.
  • Brett Podobinski (76-82-72–230) finished 17 above par. He shot three birdies during the final round.
  • Jack Ebner (78-75-80–233) finished 20 above par. He shot an eagle during the final round on hole 15, a par five.
  • Cameron Pero (79-75-75–229) was the top finisher among Miami's individual participants. He finished 16 above par.
  • Miami's team score of 888 puts them 36 above par for three rounds.
 
UP NEXT:
RedHawk golf returns this Friday and Saturday in Columbus, Ohio for the Robert Kepler Intercollegiate hosted by Ohio State. Tee times will range from 7:30 to 12:50.
