FOX CHAPEL, Pa. — The Miami University golf team is in sixth place after rounds one and two of the RedHawk Intercollegiate.
Sam West was the top finisher for the RedHawks, finishing four above par on the day. He is currently tied for 11th place overall out of 77 golfers.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- West shot one above par in round one and three above par in round two. He finished the day with five total birdies.
- Michael Weber and Danny Fisher each finished five above par for the day and are tied for 17th place heading into the final round. Weber moved up 19 places after shooting 15 pars and a birdie in the second round. He also made the most pars of any player in the tournament (27).
- Jack Ebner finished 11 above par and Brett Podobinski finished 16 above par during the first two rounds.
- Miami had four players compete as individuals. Cameron Pero finished 12 above par, Sam Mortell finished 18 above par, and Egor Zotov and Scott Bitar each finished 19 above par. Bitar tied for the fourth-most birdies made of all players in the tournament with eight.
- Miami's team score through two rounds is 591. The RedHawks are one stroke behind fifth-place North Dakota State and just three strokes away from the top three.
