Maier Breaks School Record at NCAA Championships

KNOXVILLE, Tenn.-- Nicole Maier broke Miami University's program record and the Mid-American Conference record in the women's 400 IM at the 2023 NCAA Division I Women's Swimming and Diving Championships on Friday, March 17, where she was also awarded All-American Honorable Mention.
 
The junior swimmer placed ninth in the nation by winning the B final for the 400 IM, earning a new school record time of 4:05.84. This came after she posted a program top-five time in prelims Friday morning, qualifying for finals with a time of 4:09.61.
 
On the previous day of competition, Maier swam in the 500 freestyle prelims, where she finished 24th with a time of 4:41.47, also a program top-five time.
 
Maier will close out her season for the RedHawks on Saturday, March 18, as she competes in the 100 freestyle on the final day of the NCAA Women's Championships. Prelims start at 10 a.m. while finals are set for 6:03 p.m.
