RedHawks Women's Swimming Start MAC Championships in Third

The Miami University women's swimming & diving team opened up the 2023 Mid-American Conference Women's Swimming & Diving Championships at home, ending the day third overall on Wednesday, Feb. 22. The RedHawks earned two top-five program records to finish with 64 points, putting them behind the University of Akron in first (80 points) and the University of Buffalo (68 points).
 
How It Happened:
  • The MAC Championships kicked off with the 200 medley relay finals. For Miami, the women's A relay team of Madeline Padavic, Ashley Sego, McKenzie Reid and Honor Brodie-Foy placed third, earning a combined time of 1:39.01, a top-five time for the program.
  • In the 800 freestyle relay, the RedHawks A relay team once again placed third, with Nicole Maier, Greta Kolbeck, Katheryn Antonowich and Camila Lins De Mello earning a combined time of 7:13.09, another top-five program time. Maier's lead-off time of 1:44.50 was also a record-breaker, earning an NCAA B cut, as well as breaking MAC, school and pool records.
 
Up Next:
The RedHawks will continue through the MAC Women's Championship on Thursday, Feb. 23. Morning preliminary events will begin at 10:30 a.m., while evening finals events will start at 6 p.m.
