Miami Impresses in South Bend

SOUTH BEND, Ind.- The Miami University track and field team competed Saturday at the Alex Wilson Invitational, producing several top-ten finishes.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- On the field, Kayla Walters came in fourth place in the long jump event with 5.36m. Taylor Manley took seventh place with a result of 5.06m. Walters also competed in the high jump and came in sixth place with 1.52m. Santornya Ralliford finished in second place in the shot put event with 13.92m.
- Walters continued her strong day, finishing second in the 60m hurdles with a time of 8.81. Abby Suszek took first in the 200m (24.70) and also finished in fourth place in the 60m dash with a time of 7.79. Gabby Cossio finished in third place in the 400m dash with a time of 57.64.
- Julia Rushing (4:56.43) and Jenna Sayle (5:00.69) finished 10th and 11th in the mile run, respectively.
- Unattached thrower Ryan Smith finished second in the shot put event with a distance of 16.82m. Anthony Vlatko ran unattached in the 800m and finished in seventh place with a time of 1:51.03. Ben Bayless was the only RedHawk to compete in the 3000m event and he finished in seventh place (unattached) with a time of 8:30.09.
