RedHawks Have a Big Friday Night

ALLENDALE, Mich.— Members of the Miami University track and field team competed at the GVSU Big Meet on Friday night.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
The RedHawks travel to Findlay, Ohio on February 17 and South Bend, Ind. on February 18 to compete in the Flag City Open and the Alex Wilson Invitational, respectively.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Abby Suszek ran in the 400m and finished in fourth place with a time of 55.37. Ella Scally competed in the 200m dash and finished in ninth place with a time of 25.55. Kayla Walters ran in the 60m hurdles and finished in 18th place with a time of 9.00. Rachel Smith ran in the 400m dash and finished in 15th place with a time of 1:01.27. The 4x400 relay team of Gabby Cossio, Nora Zubillaga, Marta Cepeda Perez, and Abby Suszek came in eighth place with a time of 3:52.21.
- The distance team started off right with Cepeda Perez finishing in seventh place in the 800m with a time of 2:13.71. Jenna Sayle (5:06.29) and Gianna Labbiento (5:06.59) were the highest placing RedHawks in the mile, coming in 28th and 29th respectively.
- On the field, Ella Rigel finished in fourth place in the women's weight throw with 16.43m. Emily Eterovich finished in fifth place in the women's pole vault with 3.57m. Sara Cupp threw in the shot put event and ended with 11.86m.
- Ben Bayless finished in second place in the 5000m as an unattached runner with a time of 14:18.00. Ryan Smith threw in the shot put event unattached and finished in fourth place with 17.06m. Leo Bouldin ran unattached in the 200m dash and finished in fourth place with a time of 22.21. Another unattached runner, Julian Wagner, was not far behind him finishing in 12th with a time of 22.59. Eman Alfred ran unattached in the men's 60m hurdles and finished in ninth place with a time of 8.26.
