Collegiate Team Finishes First at Dr. Porter Classic

ANN ARBOR, Mich.—Capping a successful weekend for Miami University synchronized skating at the Dr. Porter Classic, the RedHawk collegiate team captured a first-place finish among a 10-team field on Sunday afternoon with a score of 105.86.

Miami is idle from competition until after the new year. The RedHawk collegiate team will perform at the first intermission of the Miami Hockey game on Friday, Dec. 8. Puck drop is scheduled for 7:05 p.m.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Skating first for the second-straight competition, Miami had a clean skate and amassed an executed element score of 52.94 and a program component score of 52.92 to record its overall score of 105.86.
- MU bested its nearest competitors by more than four points. Northernettes placed second with a score of 101.06, followed by Trine in third with a score of 97.22.
- Western Michigan (92.82), Delaware (89.78), Michigan (80.79), Adrian (75.65), Boston College (60.96), Illinois (60.00) and Michigan State (57.67) rounded out the field, respectively.
- The RedHawks notched their fourth-straight 100-point score dating back to last season, including their second of 2023-24. It was a season-best score for the collegiate team.
