
Miami Swim and Dive Finish Strong at Miami Invite

The Miami University swimming & diving team's concluded the Miami Invitational today. The women's team finished the weekend in first place, scoring 1172.5 points against 8Â other schools. The men's team placed third with a score of 827 points. Other placements for the women's teams were Indiana State University in second with 835 points, and Dartmouth College in third with 722.5 points. Grand Canyon University finished first for the men with 1103 points and Dartmouth finished second with 906 points.
How It Happened:
- Finals for the third day began with the 1650-yard freestyle where Casey Stephens finished second for the women with a time of 16:57.82 alongside Audrey Conley in third with a time of 17:04.11. For the men, Yonatan Rosin placed third with a time of 15:58.07.
- The women took the top three placements in the 200-yard backstroke with Angelina Cakuls in first (1:57.59), Chrisna Bezuidenhot in second (1:58.01)Â and Madeline Padavic in third (1:58.40). For the men's team, Owen Blazer came in seventh with a time of 1:51.17.
- During the women's 100-yard freestyle, Nicole Maier placed first with a time of 47.97, and Honor Brodie-Foy in fourth, with 50.33. For the men, Ian Rodrigues placed fifth with a time of 44.81.
- In the men's 200-yard breaststroke, Adrian Dulay placed fourth (2:00.32) and Emma Schueler placed fifth (2:18.44) for the women.
- In the 200-yard-butterfly, the men took the top spots on the board with Henju Duvenhage in first place (1:46.14) alongside Gabriel Perseguin-Dias in fourth (1:50.72). For the women, Erin Szczupakiewicz placed third with a time of 2:02.20.
- In relays, the women's A team made up of Maier, Julia Waechter, Brodie-Foy and Kaylin Herbet, took first place in the 400-yard freestyle relay with a combined time of 3:20.50. The men's A team placed second with Rodrigues, Uros Djokovic, Perseguin-Dias and Duvenhage coming in at 2:57.62.
- Finally, during the diving events, David Burke placed fifth during the platform diving earning a score of 198.60. For the women, Mia Meinhardt came in fourth (177.95 points), Nora Kowalski came in seventh (169.60)Â and Vivian Niekamp came in ninth (150.25).
