Cardinals Win Battle of the Birds

MUNCIE, Ind. – The Miami University women's basketball team dropped a 92-61 decision at Ball State on Saturday afternoon in Muncie, Ind. Miami (6-11, 1-3 MAC) shot an impressive 8-of-19 from behind the arc, but the Cardinals (13-4, 3-1 MAC) were 13-of-30 from long distance.
Ivy Wolf had a team-high 19 points. Katey Richason added career-highs in points (13) and rebounds (10) for her first career double-double, while Maddi Cluse added 13 points and Peyton Scott chipped in with 12.

How it Happened:
- Wolf drilled back-to-back threes, helping Miami race out to an early 10-2 advantage just three minutes into the game. The Cardinals scored the game's next eight points to knot the game, 10-10 midway through the first, but Wolf's buzzer-beating triple capped Miami's 12-0 run to close the quarter for a 22-10 lead after 10 minutes of play.
- Miami led 30-20 midway through the second before the Cardinals answered with a 17-0 run in less than four minutes of play. A Richason three ended the drought and the RedHawks went to the locker room trailing 37-33.
- Miami trailed 52-48 with under four minutes to play in the third, but the Cardinals closed the quarter on a 11-1 run and led 63-49 entering the fourth.
- Ball State opened the fourth with a quick 9-3 run to take a 20-point advantage and put the contest out of reach.

- Katey Richason connected on a career-high two three pointers. She added a career-high 13 points and 10 rebounds for her first career double-double.
- Sierra Morrow had two blocks against the Cardinals and has eight blocks combined in her last two games.
