Miami Hockey Serves Meals to 250+ at Berge's Bistro

OXFORD, Ohio— Berge's Bistro made its return to the Miami University campus Monday night, as the RedHawk hockey team prepared and served meals to over 250 guests for more than two hours at the Garden Commons Dining Hall.
Coaches and players (several of whom were seen sporting oversized chef hats) enjoyed staffing the food stations, greeting supporters, and yes, even doing dishes. Pizza, tacos, salad, dessert, and more were on the menu, with plenty of smiles and laughs from the community members and youth hockey players in attendance as the evening unfolded. A variety of Miami student-athletes from other sports came out to support the event put on by the Blue Line Club and enjoy dinner, with President Greg and Dr. Renate Crawford making an appearance as well.
"I thought it was a great event," said senior captain Jack Clement. "The Blue Line Club does a lot for us, so we appreciate any time we can help them out!
"It was nice to see a group of all ages eating in our dining hall and to get to see everyone in that atmosphere...people that come out and support us know us in our gear, but it's nice for them to see us as normal college students. For us to have a chance to support them and catch up with them and show appreciation for them is really important."
Miami is back in action this weekend for a series at No. 4/3 Denver as NCHC play resumes. Puck drop on Friday, Jan. 13 is set for 9 p.m. ET. at Magness Arena.
