THIS WEEKEND: Miami opens the 2022 campaign with a trip to the Bradley CEFCU Invitational in Peoria, Ill., Aug. 26-27. The RedHawks face No. 21 Western Kentucky in the season opener at 11 a.m. (ET) Friday, Aug. 26 before facing Kansas City later that day at 4 p.m. (ET). MU clashes with host Bradley on Saturday, Aug. 27 at 11 a.m. (ET). Saturday's match will be aired on ESPN+. MU is a combined 8-5 against this weekend's field.
ABOUT WESTERN KENTUCKY & SERIES WITH THE HILLTOPPERS: Western Kentucky, ranked No. 21 in the AVCA preseason poll, is coming off a season where the Hilltoppers went 28-2 on the season and advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament. WKU returns four starters from a year ago after going 12-0 in Conference USA and winning the C-USA tournament. The all-time series is tied 4-4 with Western Kentucky having won the last three meetings, including a 3-1 win on its home court on Sept. 8 2018. Miami's last win in the series was on Sept. 12, 2008 in Bowling Green, Ky., 3-1.
ABOUT KANSAS CITY & THE SERIES WITH THE ROOS: Kansas City is coming off a season where it posted a 20-10 mark and went 12-6 in Summit League action. Miami and Kansas City have met just one other time, also in a tournament hosted by Bradley, with the Roos posting a 3-1 win on Sept. 13, 2014.
ABOUT BRADLEY & THE SERIES WITH THE BRAVES: Bradley returns 13 letterwinners, including four starters, from a team that posted a 17-15 overall record and 12-6 Missouri Valley Conference mark, and advanced to the second round of the 2021 NIVC. The RedHawks are 4-0 all-time against the Braves with Miami notching a 3-1 win on Sept. 12, 2014 in Peoria, Ill., also in a Bradley Tournament.Â

UP NEXT: The RedHawks return home to host the Miami/Best Western Invitational Sept. 2-3. Miami hosts Marshall in the home opener for the Red and White at 7 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 2. ECLIPSING 750 CAREER WINS: With a 3-0 win versus Buffalo on Jan. 22, 2021, Miami head coach
Carolyn Condit posted her 750th career win. Condit owns a 769-587 career record in her 43rd season as a head coach. Condit's 769 total victories are tied for eighth among active NCAA Division I coaches, and tied for 23rd all-time. Owning more victories than any coach in any sport in the history of Miami's storied athletic department, known as the Cradle of Coaches, Condit holds a 670-509 record and is in her 39th season in charge of the Red and White. Condit is the only volleyball coach in the history of the Mid-American Conference to win more than 300 league matches, holding a conference mark of 373-231.
