
2022 Hall of Fame Class Announced

Miami University Athletics will recognize six worthy and deserving candidates in its Hall of Fame Class of 2022. This year's Hall of Fame Class is Brandon Brooks (football), Dr. Stephen Dailey (administrator), Barb Ramsey (softball, volleyball, basketball), Diana Friedli (field hockey), Kelly (Squires) Cook (tennis) and Kevin Northup (swimming). The Hall of Fame induction is scheduled for Friday, Sept. 9 at the Armstrong Student Center. Registration details for the event will be announced soon.
Brandon Brooks, '11
Brandon Brooks played four seasons for Miami Football and was a three-time All-MAC honoree (2009, 2010, 2011) as an offensive lineman. He was part of the biggest turnaround in college football history (1-11 in 2009 to 10-4 in 2010), and his 2010 RedHawks won both the MAC title and the GoDaddy.com Bowl. Brooks was a third-round draft pick of the Houston Texans in 2012, and went on to play 122 games over a 10-year NFL career with the Texans and Eagles. He was selected for three consecutive Pro Bowls and won Super Bowl LII with Philadelphia. Brooks was named the 2017 Miami Alumni Association Young Philanthropist of the year and served as Miami University's commencement speaker in 2018.
Dr. Stephen Dailey, '84
'Doc' Dailey earned three letters with Miami Football during his time as a student-athlete, starting 32 of 33 games and led the team in sacks, tackles for loss, and TFL yardage in 1984. As a team captain in 1984, Dailey was named honorable mention All-MAC, Academic All-MAC and CoSIDA Academic All-American. He also lettered in track and field, finishing as a finalist at the 1983 MAC Championships in the shot put. Dailey returned to his alma mater as head team physician in 1994, became director of sports medicine in 2010, and received his current title, Associate Athletic Director of Human Performance and Wellness, in 2018. He has won numerous 'Best Doctor' awards from Cincinnati Magazine, was recognized with the 2001 Women's Sports Association Business Award, and earned the 2009 Contribution to Amateur Football Award.
Barb Ramsey, '76
Barb Ramsey excelled in three sports during her time at Miami, and was part of the first intercollegiate athletic seasons in softball, volleyball, and basketball. On the diamond, she hit .523 as a senior with six home runs and 30 RBI. She led Miami Softball to a 23-3 record over her final two seasons (including a 15-1 mark in 1976), and was known as not only a power hitter but also a gritty defensive player and strong leader. In all, Ramsey amassed 11 letters during her Red and White athletic career: four in softball, four in volleyball and three in basketball.
Diana Friedli, '87
Diana Friedli earned four letters as a goalkeeper for Miami Field Hockey during the 1983-1986 seasons. She holds the season and career records for most shutouts, with 11 and 19, respectively. A 1986 All-MAC first team selection and team captain, Friedli still ranks fourth in program history in career goals-against average (1.05), and posted three of the top seven season marks in that category as well (.747 in 1983, 1.00 in 1984, 1.07 in 1986). Her 0.747 GAA in 1983 still ranks as the best single season GAA in program history. Friedli is the first defensive player or goalkeeper from Miami Field Hockey to be inducted into the Hall of Fame.
Kelly (Squires) Cook, '96
Kelly (Squires) Cook was a part of three MAC title teams (1993, 1994, 1996) during her four seasons with Miami Tennis. Her teams finished 21-3 in conference play over that span. She was a three-time MAC individual champion, taking home titles in doubles (1993), #1 singles (1995), and #2 singles (1996). She was named All-MAC three times and is a two-time Academic All-MAC honoree.
Kevin Northup, '99
Kevin Northup was a seven-time MAC champion during his swimming career at Miami, winning the 100 butterfly and 200 butterfly in both the 1998 and 1999 seasons, capturing the 200 IM in 1997, 1998 and 1999, and setting several conference and meet records. He was named MAC Swimmer of the Year in 1999 and won All-American honors, finishing seventh in the 100 fly and 14th in the 200 fly at the national meet. The Miami men finished 23rd in the country as a team in 1999. Northup led the Red and White to league championships in 1997 and 1999 and was named first-team All-MAC in 1997, 1998 and 1999.
