
RedHawks Compete at Billy Hayes Invitational

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. — The Miami University outdoor track and field team had a strong showing at the Billy Hayes Invitational on Friday afternoon. The RedHawks had a number of top finishes during a rainy day of competition.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
The RedHawks wrap up their outdoor season at the MAC Outdoor Championship in Kalamazoo, Mich. on Thursday, May 12.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- In the field, Ryan Smith captured first place in the javelin with a throw of 56.15m. He was the top RedHawk in the hammer (2nd, 56.08m) and shot put (3rd, 17.07m) as well. Ella Rigel secured second place in the hammer throwing 51.95m.
- Luke Finnegan had a good day for the RedHawks placing second in the 100m (10.59) and 200m (21.13) dash. Alanah Owens captured second place in the 100m dash with a time of 12.17. Lucca Agate finished second in the 200m dash with a time of 24.43.
- In the 400m hurdles, Marta Cepeda Perez got Miami a first-place finish running a time of 1:02.59. Faith Baxter captured first-place in the 400m dash with a time of 56.81.
- The distance squad had several first-place finishes including Alex Tam in the 1500m race with a time of 3:53.83. The 3000m race was successful for both the men and the women as Annie Christie finished with a time of 9:51.38 and Dan Conway with a time of 9:06.42.
