
Maier Represents Miami at NCAA Women’s Swimming & Diving Championships

Miami University sophomore Nicole Maier competed for the RedHawks in the 2022 NCAA Women's Swimming and Diving Championships in Atlanta, Georgia, from Wednesday, March 16, to Saturday, March 19. Maier participated in three events across the four days after earning multiple qualifying times across the 2021-22 season.
Maier began her appearance at the championships with the 500 freestyle preliminaries on Thursday. She finished 42nd out of 60 swimmers with a time of 4:45.39. The following day, Maier swam in the 200 freestyle preliminaries, placing 32nd out of 52 swimmers with a time of 1:46.09. Maier's final event of the weekend was the 100 freestyle on Saturday. She tied for 53rd out of 59 swimmers, earning a time of 49.42.
As one of the top swimmers for Miami, Maier led the women's swimming and diving team through a successful season. The team placed third at the MAC Women's Swimming and Diving Championships, where Maier was named All-MAC first team. Maier was also awarded with the MAC's weekly Swimmer of the Week award four times across the season.
