WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. – The Miami University women's basketball team dropped a 66-57 decision on Tuesday afternoon to San Diego State University in game one of the West Palm Beach Invitational. Peyton Scott scored a season-high 23 points for the RedHawks (4-7), while Asia Avinger led the Aztecs (10-2) with 25 points.

How it Happened:
- Scott had six points and a pair of assists as Miami went into the second quarter with a 19-13 advantage.
- San Diego State opened the second quarter on a 7-1 run to close within 21-20, but Scott and Ivy Wolf combined for eight points over the next two minutes, handing Miami its largest lead of the half, 29-20. Miami would lead 33-26 as both teams went to the locker room.
- SDSU opened the third quarter with six straight free throws to trail by just one, but jumpers from Scott and Wolf, combined with a triple from Clare Chambers extended Miami's advantage, 40-32. For the second time in the third quarter the Aztecs clawed to with in a single point, 40-39, but Miami closed the quarter on a 10-6 win and led 50-45 entering the final stanza.
- A pair of free throws from Scott pushed Miami's lead to 55-47, but the Aztecs finished the contest on a 19-2 run for the victory.
Game Notes:
- Peyton Scott moved into seventh all time on Miami's scoring list with 1,548 career points, passing Jenna Schone (1,538).
- Maddi Cluse was a perfect 6-of-6 from the foul line.
