OXFORD, Ohio— The RedHawks (6-19) fell in a four-set match to Buffalo (16-10), 25-19, 19-25, 20-25, 17-25.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
The RedHawks took the opening two points after a Hayden Hicks service ace and Allyson Severance kill. Miami kept rolling, Maggie McCrary and Abby Stratford each recording two kills to help take a 7-2 lead. The Bulls then outscored Miami 8-3 to tie the game at 10-10. After some back-and-forth, the RedHawks were able to pull ahead by five points at 21-16. A kill from Severance clenched a 25-19 set win.

The score was tied 3-3 at the beginning of the second set. Buffalo attempted to pull away by taking a four-point advantage at 9-5. A pair of kills from Severance and McCrary helped bring Miami within three at 8-11. The RedHawks rallied back, outscoring the Bulls 7-1 to take the lead at 15-12. A collection of kills from Brooke Jackson, Stratford, McCrary, and Severance propelled the offense. Although Buffalo did not give in, retaking the lead at 16-15. Buffalo ultimately closed the set with a 25-19 set win.

Miami trailed 3-4 at the start of the set; two of the three points coming from a pair of McCrary kills. The Bulls went on to take a 9-4 lead as the middle of the set approached. Two kills from Gentry Warrick and an attack error from Buffalo brought Miami within three at 7-10. The RedHawks went on to close within one point at 15-16. A pair of kills from Jackson kept Miami within three at 19-22, but the Bulls ended the set with a 25-20 win.

The score was tied at 5-5 early in the fourth set. Buffalo started to gain momentum after taking a 10-6 lead. Two Kills from RedHawks Stratford and McCrary closed the lead to 8-11. Margo Lawson proceeded to record a service ace to trail within two at 9-11. The Bulls were not deterred, extending their lead by ten. Following a timeout from Miami, Caroline Cermack and Severance each recorded a kill. Shortly after a McCrary block diminished the lead to 14-21. In the end Buffalo won the set 25-17.
