Miami Battles to 0-0 Tie Against Buffalo

OXFORD, Ohio – On Thursday afternoon, Miami University's women's soccer team (6-3-3, 2-1-2 Mid-American Conference) tied the University at Buffalo (9-1-2, 3-0-2 MAC) by a score of 0-0.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • At the 12th minute mark, junior Taylor Hamlett dribbled down the right-hand side before swinging in a ground cross for sophomore Makenna Morrison. Morrison then turned away from her marker to shoot and forced a corner kick for Miami.
  • Just before the 30th minute mark, Hamlett eliminated a Buffalo defender with a fake shot but her attempt from within the six-yard box was parried.
  • Ten minutes into the second half, Morrison received a through ball to get into a one-on-one situation. Her attempt was saved.
  • In the 63rd minute, following a corner kick, the ball fell for Emily Sexton on the edge of the box. Sexton attempted a shot but it was inches off the crossbar.

NOTES:
  • Sophomore Mercedes Schroer earned her fifth start of the season, her first since Miami's game against Purdue University.
  • Senior Izzie Vaccari earned the sixth shutout of the season, matching the career high she set in 2021, and is now third for career shutouts in Miami's soccer history at 16.
