Miami Divers Face Off at IUPUI

The Miami University men's and women's diving team traveled to compete at IUPUI on Thursday, Oct. 20. Sydney Rice took first in two separate events, while multiple other RedHawks also earned high placements across the meet.
 
How It Happened:
  • Rice claimed the top spot in both the platform dive and 3 meter dive events for Miami. The freshman won the platform with a score of 228.45 and the 3 meter with a score of 294.60.
  • Mia Meinhardt rounded out the platform dive for the women, coming in second and scoring 205.65. For the men, Jackson Miller took second (327.53) and Victor Hearn took third (313.20).
  • Hearn moved up to second in the men's 1 meter dive (295.88), with Miller finishing third (295.35) and John Dymond in fifth (267.45). On the women's side, Vivian Niekamp grabbed third (218.03) and Nora Kowalski took fourth (210.75).
  • The 3 meter dive had a second place finish from Dymond (318.98), with David Burke landing in fourth (272.85). Meinhardt made it to third for the women (229.05), with Niekamp in fourth (224.93) and Kowalski in fifth (219.08).
 
Up Next:
The Miami women's swimming and diving team returns to action at Ohio University on Saturday, Oct. 29, with an 11 a.m. start time. The men's team will go up against Indiana State and Missouri State in a co-ed meet at Indiana on Friday, Nov. 4, and Saturday, Nov. 5.
