The Miami University swimming and diving teams closed out their first weekend of home meets on top, with both the men's and women's teams besting visiting Kenyon on Saturday, Jan. 29. The women came in at 182.5-117.5 while the men came out 183-117. Miami swimmers dominated the podium in nearly every event, both relays and individual. The diving teams also performed strongly, picking up multiple top placements.
 
How It Happened:

• The swim and dive teams placed first in 20 of the 32 events, including all of the relay events and two of the diving events. A Miami athlete was also present in the top three for all other events.
• For the women, the A relay teams topped both relay events. In the 400 medley relay, Angelina Cakuls, Sara Lahrach-Sanchez, Honor Brodie-Foy and Nicole Maier earned a combined time of 3:39.49, while Maier, Brodie-Foy, Cakuls and Taylor Connors picked up a time of 3:22.65 in the 400 freestyle relay. The men saw the B relay take first in the 400 medley relay, with Mason Miller, Sam Curran, Ryan Sego and Jack Herczeg earning a combined time of 3:18.86. In the 400 freestyle relay, Henju Duvenhage, Herczeg, Cole Grosshans and Ben Chatwin came out on top with a time of 2:58.91.
• Maier grabbed first in both of her individual events for the second meet in a row, with a time of 1:48.31 in the 200 freestyle and 4:51.42 in the 500 freestyle. Two Miami swimmers won multiple individual events for the men as well, including Adrian Dulay in the 100 breaststroke (55.23) and the 200 breaststroke (2:01.20) and Duvenhage in the 200 butterfly (1:46.27) and the 100 butterfly (47.72).
• Other swimmers who claimed top placement for the women were Madeline Padavic in the 100 backstroke (53.90), Erin Szczupakiewicz in the 200 butterfly (2:02.32), Brodie-Foy in the 100 freestyle (50.50), Angelina Cakuls in the 200 backstroke (1:58.57) and Mckenzie Reid in the 100 butterfly (55.09). For the men, winners were Uros Djokovic in the 200 freestyle (1:39.96), Cole Grosshans in the 50 freestyle (20.17) and Ben Chatwin in the 100 freestyle (44.87).
• Both diving teams saw a solid showing as well; Vivian Niekamp placed first in the one meter event with a score of 308.63 followed by Madeline Lutzko in second (290.03). The divers swapped placements in the three meter event, with Lutzko picking up a score of 308.55 for first and Niekamp grabbing a score of 307.05 for second. The men saw Jackson Miller placing second in both the one meter (343.58) and the three meter (382.05) while David Burke took third in the one meter (307.65) and Karsten Dixon took third in the three meter (313.13).
