DAYTON, Ohio–The Miami University women's soccer team defeated Wright State University in exhibition action on Sunday afternoon, 3-2, with two goals from sophomore forward Haley Anspach to start Miami off with a win before the regular season.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Anspach opened the scoring with an assist from Keara Kerr at 31:22.
- Wright State evened the match 1-1 with 15 seconds left in the first period.
- In the first 10 minutes of the second period, Anspach scored an unassisted goal to give Miami a 2-1 lead.
- Freshman forward Kylee Beinecke scored an unassisted goal at 61:28 to secure a 3-1 lead for Miami.
NOTES:
- Senior goalkeeper Lauren Parker had three saves in the winning effort.
- The RedHawks outshot the Raiders, 14-6.
