Miami Finishes Fourth at MAC Championships

2021 MAC Golf Final Results

FORT WAYNE, Ind.—After recording a 303 on the final day of the Mid-American Conference Championships, the second-best score of the final round, the Miami University golf team jumped a spot in the standings and finished fourth among the eight-team field. Senior Cam Solomon and junior Charlie Nikitas both landed on the MAC All-Tournament Team, while Solomon was named the Earl Yestingsmeier Sportsman of the Year.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

Senior Cam Solomon carded the best round of the tournament on the final day, firing a 69 to finish in a tie for second, just one stroke out of first. Solomon finished the tournament with a score of 77-81-69=227.
Junior Charlie Nikitas also finished in a tie for second to spur the RedHawks (76-75-76=227).
Redshirt junior Jack Herceg finished in a tie for 23rd place (80-79-78=237), while senior Jack Mortell finished 27th (82-76-80=238).
As a team, Miami shot 315-311-303=929 and finished just two strokes out of third and six out of second.
