Offense Explodes for 4-2 Win Over Kent State

OXFORD, Ohio – Haley Anspach and Kristina DeMarco scored second half goals to propel the Miami University women's soccer team to a 4-2 win over Kent State University on Sunday afternoon at Bobby Kramig field. The win moves Miami to 2-1 on the year, while KSU falls to 2-1.
 
How it Happened:
  • Miami opened the scoring in the 13th minute as DeMarco put Miami up 1-0. Desiree Grubbs and Haley Anspach picked up assists on the play.
  • Seven minutes later Grubbs took a pass from Camber Hayes and found the back of the net to spot the Red and White a 2-0 lead.
  • The Flashes answered with a goal late in the first half and another tally early in the second half to knot the score at 2-2 with just over 30 minutes to play.
  • Anspach picked up a goal at the 67' mark to once again put Miami up, 3-2 and DeMarco added an insurance goal with four minutes to play to secure the victory.
 
Up Next:
Miami returns to action on Thursday, March 18 with a trip to Bowling Green. The contest is slated to begin at 7 p.m.
