Scott's 25 points helped put her over 1,000 in her career. She was joined by Maddi Cluse (13), Jada Duckett (12) and Ivy Wolf (10) in double figures. The RedHawks shot 49.3% from the floor, recording 22 assists on 36 made buckets and forced 29 Evansville turnovers.
How it Happened:
- After a slow start by both squads, Scott and the RedHawks' offense found its rhythm. The junior scored 10 points in the first quarter to help the RedHawks to a 23-12 advantage after 10 minutes of play.
- A triple from Wolf to open the second quarter gave Miami its largest of the half at 26-12. The Purple Aces answered with an 8-0 run to cut the deficit to 26-20, but Cluse knocked in a three pointer to extend Miami's lead and the RedHawks posted a 39-29 halftime advantage.
- An Evansville three pointer cut Miami's lead to 56-48 with 2:15 left in the third quarter, but back-to-back layups from Scott and Katey Richason pushed Miami's advantage to 60-48. Miami led 64-52 after three quarters of play.
- Evansville got as close as 70-63 midway through the final stanza but two straight layups from Richason and another from Scott put the game out of reach.
Game Notes:
- Peyton Scott now has 1,007 career points and is one of just 27 RedHawks to surpass 1,000 points in their career.
- Maddi Cluse posted a new career best with 13 points. She added a career high in three-pointers made (3).
- Ivy Wolf recorded a career high five assists.
- Jada Duckett matched her career-high with 12 points and was one shy of her career best with nine rebounds.
