The Miami University women's swimming & diving team came up short in their visit to Akron Saturday, Oct. 30. Akron concluded the meet with 190 points, while Miami ended with 110.

How it Happened:
- Akron dominated the top spots in a majority of events, taking first place in 13 events while Miami only claimed three. Miami did manage to avoid getting shut out of the top three in any events, earning second place finishes in seven events and at least third place in the rest.
- Nicole Maier gave Miami's team their two individual event wins, coming out on top in the 200 butterfly with a time of 2:01.73 and the 500 freestyle with a time of 4:56.26.
- Akron and Miami split wins in the relay events. Akron took the 200 medley relay, with the Miami A relay team of Madeline Padavic, Jordyn Homoki, Emily O'Connell and Maier coming in second, while the RedHawks were able to claim the 400 freestyle relay thanks to the A relay team of Maier, Padavic, Honor Brodie-Foy and Taylor Connors earning a time of 3:27.38.
- Miami swimmers had multiple tight finishes, with four second place finishes being less than a second behind Akron. Closest was the 100 freestyle; Akron took first with a time of 51.91, while Brodie-Foy and Connors came in second and third respectively, each with times only 0.01 seconds removed.
- Other close second place finishes came from Padavic in the 100 backstroke (55.50), Brodie-Foy in the 50 freestyle (23.79) and Anna Martin in the 200 breaststroke (2:20.15).
- The Miami women's diving team had their best showcase yet this season, with Madeline Lutzko taking second place in both the 3 meter diving and 1 meter diving events.
