Miami Wins on Senior Day vs Western Michigan, 2-1

OXFORD, Ohio - In an electrifying match, the Miami University women's soccer team (8-7-3; 5-5-0 MAC) posted a 2-1 win against Western Michigan University (5-12-0; 3-7-0 MAC) at Bobby Kramig Field on Sunday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED:  
  • In the first half, Miami got the early advantage, as Jordan King scored with an assist by Kristina DeMarco.
  • At 53:38, the Broncos scored to bring it back to a 1-1 tie.
  • Miami's DeMarco answered back at 61:05 to take a 2-1 lead.
  • The RedHawks held down Western Michigan in the second half to secure the win, 2-1.   
Notes:
  • Emily Boutin had four saves in the win for the RedHawks.
  • King earned her first career goal in Sunday's matchup.
  • The RedHawks outshot the Broncos 13-6 in the first half.
  • DeMarco's goal at the 61-minute mark was assisted by Kennedy Gray
