
RedHawks Complete Meet at Grand Valley State

ALLENDALE, Mich. -Â The Miami RedHawks women's track and field team got more indoor action Saturday afternoon when they continued the winter season at the Mike Lints Alumni Meet at Grand Valley State.
The 'Hawks went up against Eastern Michigan, Western Michigan and the host Grand Valley State in the meet, getting a preview of two MAC foes.
The first win on the day came in the 400-meter run on the men's side for Miami, with Jacob Matthews finishing first in the field with a time of 48.95. On the women's side, Kayla Walters finished with the top time in the preliminaries for the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 9.07, and improved to a time of 9.01 to get the third-place title in the finals.
Over on the field with their season debuts, Morgan Lancaster finished in fifth place in the women's high jump, with 1.42 meters. Miami also entered two athletes in the long jump, with Meg Wilson being the best of the duo, clearing a 5.50m mark for third place in her flight. Michael Davenport competed in the men's pole vault, and got second place with a height of 4.75m.
