
Miami Women Finish Fourth at MAC Championships

The RedHawks scored 408 points as a team this week.
BUFFALO, N.Y. – The Miami University women's swimming and diving team finished fourth at the 2020 Mid-American Conference Championships, totaling 408 points this week. Camila Lins de Mello was named All-MAC First Team and Hannah Fuchs was named All-MAC Second Team.
In the 100 free, Camila Lins de Mello finished fourth (49.67), which ranks fifth all-time.
The RedHawks also captured fourth in the 400 free relay (3:23.41), swam by Ashlyn Underhill, Izzy Herb, Lins de Mello and Anna Justinak.
Miami had four swimmers compete in the 200 breast, led by Hannah Fuchs (2:18.04), who finished sixth. Bri Alexander finished 10th (2:18.59 – season best), followed by Anna Martin in 14th (2:19.86) and Sam Sutton (2:22.71).
In the 200 fly, Underhill finished sixth (2:01.19) after swimming a season-best time in prelims (2:00.17) to rank third in program history. Kayleigh Cannon won the consolation final (1:59.92), finishing ninth overall, which ranks second all-time.
Herb led Miami in the 200 back with a seventh-place finish (1:59.93), ranking ninth in program history. Claire Doerr placed 12th (2:01.75).
Maddie Folta finished 15th in the 3-mtr dive (216.03).
