
Tennis Bounces Back With Decisive 4-0 Win Over WKU

The RedHawks posted three quick straight-sets wins in singles.
HAMILTON, Ohio - After a hard-fought battle Friday night, the Miami women's tennis team (4-4) responded with a decisive 4-0 victory Friday against visiting Western Kentucky (5-6).
The RedHawks earned the doubles point for the early advantage, with the tandem of Milana Lysova and Priyana Kalita taking a quick 6-1 win on court two followed by Melati Devi and Makenzie Myers winning at third doubles.
In singles, Lysova would keep rolling as she breezed through her opponent on court three en route to a quick straight-sets win, giving her a 2-0 weekend. Laura Rico, playing at first singles, also followed up her win yesterday with a two-set win of her own to give Miami the 3-0 lead and put the 'Hawks one point away from clinching the match.
Myers took the clinching point for Miami, also in straight sets. She won 6-3, 6-3 at fifth singles to give the 'Hawks the 4-0 win. The other three singles matches were left unfinished.
The RedHawks will be back on the road next weekend with matches against Winthrop and Marshall in Huntington, W.V.
