MT. PLEASANT – The Miami University women's basketball team had a season-best 11 turnovers, but struggled shooting the ball all afternoon as it dropped a 69-51 decision on Tuesday afternoon versus the Central Michigan Chippewas. The loss drops Miami to 1-3 on the year, while CMU improves to 3-1 this season. It was the MAC opener for both squads.
Peyton Scott had a team-high 18 points, while Kelly McLaughlin added 13 and Katie Davidson chipped in with 11, but the RedHawks shot just 18-of-59 (30.5%) for the game. Miami was also 3-of-19 from behind the arc.

How it Happened:
- Central Michigan scored the game's first eight points before the RedHawks closed the first quarter with a 13-8 run to trail 16-13 after 10 minutes of play. Scott had six points in the opening quarter.
- Miami continued to trail by five at 26-21. CMU finished the half on an 11-5 run to send the teams to the locker room with the Chippewas leading 37-26.
- CMU drilled a three pointer at the end of the third quarter to hold a 53-39 lead with 10 minutes to play.
- The Chippewas outscored the RedHawks 16-12 in the fourth period.
Game Notes:
- Peyton Scott finished the contest with 18 points. She has scored in double figures in all four games this year. Scott added a career-high seven assists as well.
- Freshman Katie Davidson added 11 points and six rebounds. Like Scott, Davidson has also scored double figures in every games this season.
- Kelly McLaughlin added 13 points, just two points shy of her career-best.
- Miami had a season-best 11 turnovers on the day.
