Men's Basketball Holds First Practice

Miami University men's basketball got the 2020-21 campaign underway with its first official practice of the season on Thursday afternoon. Head coach Jack Owens sat down virtually with Steve Baker to talk about the team's first practice.

The most-veteran squad in Coach Owens' tenure at the helm of the program, the RedHawks return 11 letterwinners, including three starters. Senior forward Dalonte Brown, sophomore guard Dae Dae Grant and sophomore guard Myja White are Miami's returning starters.

One of five seniors on the roster and a three-year starter for the Red and White, Brown enters the season with 915 career points and is poised to become the 37th member of Miami's 1,000-point club.

Added to the nucleus of returns are redshirt junior forward James Beck--who sat out last season due to NCAA transfer regulations--redshirt freshman forward Javin Etzler and incoming freshmen forward Luka Eller, center Jackson Ames and guard Bryson Tatum.
