Edited Sept. 19 to reflect changes made after the fact
OXFORD, Ohio – Miami head hockey coach
Chris Bergeron revealed the RedHawks' 2019-20 schedule on Wednesday.
Nineteen home dates are on the docket for MU's 19-20 campaign, starting with an Oct. 6 showdown against in-state rival Bowling Green. That starts a season-opening five-game home stand that sees the RedHawks host New Hampshire (Oct. 11-12) and Ferris State (Oct. 18-19) before finishing October with a brief trip to Colgate (Oct. 25-26).
After taking on the USA National Team Development Program in a Nov. 1 exhibition, the Red & White begin their National Collegiate Hockey Conference Slate at North Dakota (Nov. 8-9). That series begins three-straight NCHC series as Miami hosts two-time defending national champion Minnesota Duluth (Nov. 15-16) before heading to Omaha (Nov. 22-23). MU finishes the month at UConn (Nov. 29-30) before wrapping up the first half of its schedule against defending NCHC regular season champion St. Cloud State (Dec. 6-7).
After resuming play at Bowling Green on Dec. 30 and hosting a Jan. 3 exhibition with Guelph, the RedHawks dive into the rest of their NCHC schedule the rest of the way. January sees Miami head to Colorado College (Jan. 10-11) before hosting North Dakota (Jan. 17-18) and Denver (Jan. 24-25). A trip to St. Cloud State (Jan. 31-Feb. 1) is followed by a home series with Western Michigan (Feb. 14-15). After a bye week, the Red & White's final three series are at Denver (Feb. 21-22), home against Omaha (Feb. 28-29) and at Western Michigan (March 6-7).
The postseason begins with a best-of-three NCHC Playoff series March 13-15, with the top four seeds hosting those series. The four teams that advance to the semifinals go to Minneapolis, Minn., for the Frozen Faceoff (March 20-21). NCAA Regionals are held March 27-29 with the Frozen Four taking place in Detroit on April 9 and 11.
