Miami Selected for the WNIT

The RedHawks received an at-large bid on Monday evening.
FORT COLLINS, Colo. – The Miami University women's basketball team was selected to play in the 2019 Women's National Invitational Tournament as announced on Monday night. The RedHawks will host Western Kentucky on Thursday. Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m.
Fans can purchase tickets by clicking HEREÂ on Tuesday, starting at 10 a.m. General admission tickets are $8, youth tickets are $6 and courtside tickets are $10. A $1 processing fee will be added online. The ticket office will be open during normal business hours for those that want to call (513-529-4295) or buy tickets in person.
The WNIT is a 64-team single-elimination tournament with all games being played at campus sites. Round One begins March 20-22, Round Two is March 23-26, Round Three spans March 27-29, Quarterfinals are March 30-31, Semifinals take place April 3-4 and the Championship is on April 6 on CBS Sports Network.
Miami finished the season with a 23-8 overall record and a 13-5 conference record. The RedHawks return to the WNIT for the second-consecutive season. Miami reached 20 wins in back-to-back seasons for the first time since the 1980's and put together an 11-game win streak, matching the fifth-longest win streak in program history.
The RedHawks earned the No. 3 seed in the MAC Tournament at Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland last week. After a first-round bye, Miami beat Toledo by a 72-54 margin in the Quarterfinals before falling to second-seeded Ohio in the Semifinals.
Western Kentucky finished 18-14 overall and 11-5 in conference play. WKU beat Old Dominion by a 74-60 margin in the Conference USA Tournament before falling to Rice 57-64. Western Kentucky lost to both of its MAC opponents this season, playing at Central Michigan and hosting Ball State.
