The Morehead State alum spent the past two years as a compliance graduate assistant at Missouri.
Miami University Associate Athletic Director for Academics and Compliance Brad Corbin has named Angela Black the Assistant Director of Compliance.
"I am extremely excited to add Angela to our Compliance staff," Corbin said. "Her high energy and supportive approach will make her an asset as we continue on our mission of Graduating Champions."
Black spent the past two years as Missouri's Compliance Graduate Assistant. Her duties in Columbia included managing the Student-Athlete Assistance and Student-Athlete Opportunity Funds, organizing annual time demand reports for each sport, approving CARA logs and keeping track of schedule changes for each sport. Additionally, she mentored student-athletes and helped keep them organized through Mizzou Made Academics. She also reviewed student-athlete forms, created exemption forms and created NCAA legislation surveys for coaches to vote on.
Before pursuing her master's degree at Missouri, Black attended Morehead State and served an undergraduate internship in MSU's compliance office in her final semester. She helped the compliance department with rules interpretation research and also worked directly with coaches in student-athlete certification.
Black's compliance experience followed a four-year career with the Eagles' soccer team, which she earned four letters on. She was named the 2013 Ohio Valley Conference's Freshman of the Year and helped the Eagles win the OVC Tournament that season. She ended her playing career by earning First-Team All-OVC honors as team captain in 2016.
Black earned a Bachelor of Arts in Sport Management from Morehead State in May of 2017 and finished her Master of Education in Educational, School and Counseling Psychology from Missouri in December of 2018.
